Menu for the week of 4 July 2011
The “rules” of our household diet can be found in the tab above labeled Hallee’s Galley and further explained in Our Diet.
I usually serve leftovers for lunch the next day, or we’ll save them during the week to graze lunch on the weekends. One meal a week, we eat whatever we want. This is usually our “Dinner Out” meal.
Almost all of the breads are homemade using fresh milled flour. I’ll continue to link to my recipes as I post them. Our daily bread is Whole Wheat Honey Oatmeal Bread.
Here’s the menu for my family for the week of July 4th. As far as desserts go, we’re going to make some Traditional Sugar Cookies cut out in star shapes for the Independence Day holiday. I’m also going to try some desserts that incorporate squash — because I have a plethora of squash and want to do something other than saute it. We’re leaving for Glen Eden Youth Center on Friday, so I’ll be making some granola bars and cookies to take with us for snacking there.
Beef ribs, black beans & Perfect Brown rice, corn, Old Fashioned Cornbread
Easy Sloppy Joes on Homemade Whole Wheat Buns, Coastal Cole Slaw, Homemade Potato Chips
Beef sausage, pink beans cooked with fresh onion, Sautéed Summer Vegetables with Radishes,Old Fashioned Cornbread, garden salad
Homemade Spinach Fettuccine with roasted red peppers, chicken, and Homemade Basil Pesto (recipe to follow), French Bread, garden salad
At Glen Eden Youth Center for the next week. Please keep us in your prayers as we minister to the youth of the mountains of Kentucky.
I’m so grateful for your visit, today.

It’s awesome that you make your own French bread! I’m from Brazil and there we eat it all the time!
