When I decided to make this cake, it took less time to make the batter than it took to preheat the oven. You use a whisk to make it, not a mixer, which means you can whip it up in little time and the cleanup is very easy. It’s a delicious, dense cake – almost like a Blondie.Pin It
My boys love gathering acorns on the walk to school. They both have acorns in almost every pocket of their backpacks, and there is no telling how many they’ve buried in our yard, hoping to grow a tree.
So, when I saw this snack, I couldn’t help but get the supplies needed to make it!Pin It
Every year, I make Valentine’s cookies for gifts for my kids’ teachers (except Kaylee — apparently when you’re in high school, it’s not “cool” to give your teachers cookies – heh). One of the cookies going into the basket this this year, is a a double-decker cookie.Pin It
These were so much fun to make. The flavors worked really well together and it looked incredibly festive on the platter. They were gone within minutes at a church potluck dinner. Be prepared, though. It takes a little over 2 hours of regular (20 to 25-minute intervals) working with it.Pin It
It’s apple season here at our household, and our apple tree is bursting with fruit. While planning to take a meal to a family at church who just had a baby, I decided to make an apple pie. But, when I inventoried my aluminum pans, I discovered that I’m out of pie plates. Since I try not to take anything that needs to be returned to me (so that the family doesn’t have to keep up with dishes from so many church members bringing food) I decided instead to use a square cake pan and make an apple crisp. This was so good, very simple, and so easy to make.Pin It
I made this cake for Gregg’s birthday this year. I’d made his traditional Red Velvet Cake in the form of a cake roll for him to take to work with him that day, so I thought I’d change things up a bit. This was an amazing flavor – it tasted just like a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, but in the form of a cake! I did not not take pictures of the process, but it’s very simple.Pin It
I made this for Gregg’s birthday this year. He took it to work with him, and said it didn’t last six minutes before it was all gone. I know the filling tasted amazing – Gregg said the whole thing was absolutely wonderful.Pin It
