Helping Hearts Helping Hands

Posted by Hallee on Mar 10, 2010 in Christian Faith, Prayer, missions

Part of the prize for the March give-away was a showcase of the favorite mission. S Zurek won the giveaway, and Hallee the Homemaker donated $50 to Helping Hearts Helping Hands.

The quote at the top of the website for this organization says:

“Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world.” -Harriet Tubman

Creation: Abiogenesis Part II

Posted by Gregg on Mar 7, 2010 in Christian Faith, Creation, apologetics, homeschooling

Abiogenesis is the notion that if you assemble all of the base components you need in order for life to exist under the ideal conditions, that life will simply happen. The context of this so called theory is that all of the base components needed in order for life to exist, along with all of the ideal conditions, had to have come together randomly and exclusively by way of undirected processes.

Labeling Hallee (as a Homemaker)

Posted by Hallee on Mar 3, 2010 in Biblical womanhood, Christian Faith, Family, Holy matrimony, Life, Parenting

I do not believe the following labels apply to me:

working mother
career woman
stay-at-home-mom (SAHM)
work-at-home-mom (WAHM)
housewife
full-time mom
Personally, the label I prefer is that of Homemaker.

Posted by Hallee on Mar 2, 2010 in Blog Stuff, Hallee's Galley, Stewardship

I am honored to have participated in a Real Food Face-Off hosted by Katie at kitchenstewardship.com which concludes on March 2. I had my turn week before last and I must say I feel both humbled and honored to have been asked to participate. There have been some fantastic bloggers so far and there is only one more Face-off to go after today.

Creation: Abiogenesis Part I

Posted by Gregg on Feb 28, 2010 in Christian Faith, Creation, apologetics, homeschooling

The next series of Sunday posts will focus on the Darwinian concept of “Abiogenesis” which is the authoritatively scientific sounding word that Darwinists invented to describe how life sprung into existence from non-living matter.

March Giveaway: A Miss-Away

Posted by Hallee on Feb 27, 2010 in Blog Stuff, Christian Faith, Giveaways, missions

Welcome to March! As we enter into this month with a lion’s roar (and as I type this, a cold wind is blowing snow across my front lawn) and hopefully end it with a mew of a gentle lamb (mmm – Easter dinner), we’ll take some time during the changing of the seasons to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. There is, of course, more St. Patrick details coming in our near future, but for the purpose of the giveaway, let me quote to you from my St. Patrick’s Day future post:

Dressed for Success

Posted by Hallee on Feb 23, 2010 in Biblical womanhood, Holy matrimony, Housekeeping, Life, Marriage

He’d said this to me for years – in fact, in an email I received from him a week after I met him, he extolled how much he loved the fact that I put an effort into looking nice. But this time, reading it, I took it as an accusation – as in, “I would appreciate it if you would put an effort into your appearance, but you don’t because you’re fat, ugly, frumpy, limp.”

Out with Adsense, In with Good Sense

Posted by Hallee on Feb 22, 2010 in Biblical womanhood, Blog Stuff

Unlike the Chrstianbook.com and occasional Amazon links found here, we had no control over the content of the Google Ads, and they very often linked to sites that were in direct oppostion to my mission statement. We decided to remove the Google Ads from the main blog. We felt they had no place here.

Take Pictures

Posted by Hallee on Feb 21, 2010 in Christian Faith, Family, Life, Love, Parenting

Go take pictures of your kids.  Wrap your arms around your husband’s neck and take a picture of the two of you.  Hand the camera over to someone sitting next to you in the restaurant and have him  take a picture of you and your family.
