Menu for the week of 01 August 2011
The “rules” of our household diet can be found in the tab above labeled Hallee’s Galley and further explained in Our Diet.
I usually serve leftovers for lunch the next day, or we’ll save them during the week to graze lunch on the weekends. One meal a week, we eat whatever we want. This is usually our “Dinner Out” meal.
Almost all of the breads are homemade using fresh milled flour. I’ll continue to link to my recipes as I post them. Our daily bread is Whole Wheat Honey Oatmeal Bread.
Here’s the menu for my family for the week of August 1st. As far as desserts go, my sister and her kids are in town! I’m so excited. I’m going to fill the cookie jar with some Oatmeal Raisin Cinnamon Chip Cookies this morning. I’ve harvested six pumpkins out of my garden, so I’ll be making a Fresh Pumpkin Pie while canning the pumpkin.
Hamburgers on the grill, Hot Potato Salad, Herb Roasted Potato Wedges, watermelon
A beef casserole with layers of potatoes and vegetables that I love to make. I just have to name it so that I can put the recipe up for you. Plus, French Bread, garden salad
Mouthwatering Cornmeal Crusted Rainbow Trout, seasoned Perfect Brown Rice, steamed broccoli, Old Fashioned Cornbread
Freshmen Orientation at our high school. My daughter will be a Freshman this year (*sob!*) We have to eat dinner at the high school (I’m cringing as many of you all are, and as my daughter is, but that’s okay – stay tuned for a host of recipes for school lunch ideas!)
Taco Dinner with Homemade Whole Wheat Tortillas and Homemade Corn Tortillas
Hearty 16-Bean Soup, Hallee’s Fabulous ‘Travel’ Sandwiches

Once again, you make me want to join you for your meals. Yum-o!
I am so jealous of your pumpkins! It’s still 100 degrees in Texas with no end in sight so fall feels so far away. Thank you for sharing your waffle recipe. I’m always looking for new ways to get oats into my family’s diet.
I love looking at other peoples meal plans. :-) Thanks for sharing yours.
I was wondering if you have ever used the grain mill attachment for your kitchen aid mixer. I was looking/contemplating buying one.
I have not. I’m sorry.
