Menu Monday 26 April 2010

Menu Monday

Menu for the week of 26 April 2010.

The “rules” of our household diet can be found in the tab above labeled Hallee’s Galley and further explained in Our Diet.

I usually serve leftovers for lunch the next day, or we’ll save them during the week to graze lunch on the weekends. One meal a week, we eat whatever we want. This is usually our “Dinner Out” meal.

Almost all of the breads are homemade using fresh milled flour. I’ll continue to link to my recipes as I post them.

Here’s the menu for my family for the week of April 26th. As far as desserts go, my niece and sister-in-law will be in town, so I’ll definitely do something chocolate, and preferably flour-free (my sister-in-law suffers from a wheat allergy.)  I’ve never done one of those flour-free cakes, but if you have a good recipe, I’d love to try it!

Monday:

Breakfast:

Egg-In-A-Hole, orange slices

Dinner:

It is nasty, rainy, cold, and yucky outside.  So, despite the fact that it’s almost May, we’re going to have Heat-Free Chili, Old Fashioned Cornbread, green salad

Tuesday:

Breakfast:

Dinner:

Hearty Chicken Stir-Fry, brown rice, fortune cookies

Wednesday:

Breakfast:

breakfast burritos (recipe to follow) made with turkey sausage, scrambled eggs, and Whole Wheat Flour Tortillas

Dinner:

(I’m trusting the forecast that this cold, rain will go away!)  hamburgers on the grill at the park, Whole Wheat Hamburger Buns, Hot Potato Salad, carrot & celery sticks, chocolate chunk cookies (recipe to follow)

Thursday:

Breakfast:

oatmeal with maple syrup and raisins, Whole Wheat Honey Oatmeal Bread toast

Dinner:

Delicious Chicken and Brown Rice Casserole, peas and carrots, garden salad, blueberry muffins (I thought I had already posted this recipe!  I will correct that this week – recipe to follow)

Friday:

Breakfast:

blueberry muffins, Strawberry & Banana High Protein Smoothie (recipe to follow)

Dinner:

Dinner at church (they are serving pulled pork barbecue, but apparently will be getting chicken for those of us who are “weird”!  HAHA!)

Saturday:

Breakfast:

cold cereal

Dinner:

sloppy joes (recipe to follow) on Whole Wheat Hamburger Buns, homemade French fries, fruit salad

Sunday:

Breakfast:

scrambled eggs, turkey bacon

Dinner:

baked chicken legs, sweet potato & black bean hash (recipe to follow), corn, green salad
