The Power of a Praying Wife: Online Bible Study Introduction
I have had some questions about the upcoming Bible study based on the book The Power of a Praying Wife by Stormie Omartian that will begin May 1 so I hope to answer them in this post.
If you can’t afford the book and/or the study guide, please don’t let that dissuade you from participating. Most church libraries have this book. Look into borrowing the book from a friend or your church or public library at no cost. You can also usually find used copies really inexpensively at sites like half.com or amazon.com. Or, please, don’t hesitate to contact me. We’ll see what we can do to get you whatever materials you need.
If you are in need of a Bible, I beg you to contact me. You have no idea how much it would bless me to put God’s word in your hands.
NOTE: If anyone else is interested in providing a Bible or a copy of the book to a fellow student for this online Bible study, please contact me as well, and I am confident that our Lord will richly bless you for your generosity.
Starting on Saturday, May 1, we will do an introduction and a roll call. Then, each following Saturday, I will put up a post for each chapter and we will discuss it in the Forum.
I am thrilled with the opportunity and I am still prayerfully hopeful that we may garner some of my fellow bloggers to facilitate chapters as we progress.
With respect to materials, I did a quick search on Christianbook.com and rounded up what all materials they had to offer in case anyone still needs to purchase a book, or felt like getting the audiobook or any of the supplemental materials they have to offer.

Ya I saw the price of that, wow! I was wondering if you were going to get that or just the regular pack like I am getting. I am excited about this, excited to be taking this step. I really need this. I have a hard time sometimes in my marriage, considering he is very sick..sometimes i feel like I am a caretaker more than a wife. So this is coming at the perfect time.

I hope you don’t mind me butting in, but I’ve done this study before on my own and through bible study and yes the Study Guide really is a must, it just adds so much to the study and you will not regret getting the study guide and will truly miss out if you don’t get it! (to the person who asked!!)

Mine should be here tomorrow (crossing fingers). I am excited. I am glad I got the study guide tho. As much as I am on the computer, I am a old school kinda girl. I like physical tangible stuff. Plus I can do it at work. I don’t get to talk to people at work, so that’s when I do alot of my “talking” to God. It will be good :) But seriously I can’t wait. I am looking forward to something to help me get closer to God. I feel like I am drifting away and desperately need to come back.

I got my book and study guide yesterday! I am so excited to be starting this, I hope I can keep up! I need more Christian influences and Christ devotion in my life, and in my family’s life. I feel we are being pulled further into the sins and ugliness of society, and I am having a hard time fighting the battle when it comes to explaining things to the kids. They are learning things from school and other kids, I never would’ve wanted them exposed to!
I need more peace and Christian commitment within myself, so I can teach my children to be tolerant Christians and know how to avoid those ugly influences.

I would love to join this study group. I only have access to the web when I am at work. I am in a hard financial bind at the moment so internet will be off for a while. I dont have a book or study guide either. I really wanna join and learn more about praying for my husband we are going thru a whole lot of chaisos and financial burdens and everything. I dont know when I will be able to even get a chance to purchase the book but If I can get pretty good notes and scriptures to carry me thru until I can get one will that help me? I really wanna have the book so I can read when I am home and to study a whole lot. Any help?
