Menu for the week of 12 September 2011
The “rules” of our household diet can be found in the tab above labeled Hallee’s Galley and further explained in Our Diet.
I usually serve leftovers for lunch the next day, or we’ll save them during the week to graze lunch on the weekends. One meal a week, we eat whatever we want. This is usually our “Dinner Out” meal.
Almost all of the breads are homemade using fresh milled flour. I’ll continue to link to my recipes as I post them. Our daily bread is Whole Wheat Honey Oatmeal Bread.
Here’s the menu for my family for the week of September 12th. As far as desserts go, my cookie jar is empty and must be filled! I’ll be making some Traditional Sugar Cookies and decorating them with the boys this week for art for school.

Hi,
I’m new to your site…not sure if I should comment here or not. :
I’ve been grinding my grain since last year….I’m Still learning alot.
I was wondering if you experiment with non-milled flour recipes to make your recipes. I had read that you cannot use just any recipe with the fresh milled flour…I believe because of the air in the fresh milled..not sure though.
Anyhoo, I was just wondering if you experimented with your old recipes. I’ve found quite a few recipes on the internet, but I have several old recipes I’d like to use.
I tried my old italian bread recipe after we bought the mill…it was a very sad sight. :( LOL
Thanks for any help.
Blessings,
Mandy :)
Sorry that it took me so long to reply to this comment. I read it on my phone but never went back to it.
I have discovered that cookies are touch-and-go. I do way better with cookies that have oats in them.
Other than that, I’ve not had any problems. I’ve read that you can’t do just any recipe with fresh milled, and I’ve read that you can’t just substitute whole wheat for all purpose – but I just use fresh ground whole wheat in everything, and other than cookies (which go completely flat) I don’t have any problem at all.
