Purple Monster Fruit Smoothie
Purple Monster Fruit Smoothie
This is a great smoothie for breakfast — and sometimes dinner!
If you are not fasting or looking for a strict vegetarian smoothie, you can substitute the orange juice with any mix of juices or even an even split of whole milk and plain yogurt. The milk/yogurt mixture adds more of a milk shake quality than the juice does.
2 frozen bananas, skins removed and cut in chunks
½ cup frozen blueberries (OR ¼ cup of blueberries and ¼ cup of blackberries)
1 cup orange juice (can substitute ½ cup of whole milk and ½ cup of plain yogurt)
1 scoop of whey protein powder if not fasting
1 tsp honey (optional)
1 tsp pure vanilla extract (optional)
measuring cups/spoons
blender
You’ll be pouring your smoothie in 5 minutes.
Place bananas, blueberries and juice in a blender, puree. Use vanilla to taste. Use more or less liquid depending on the thickness you want for your smoothie.

Avoid soy protein powder as this is made from unfermented soy and is reportedly very unhealthy for children and the men in our lives. Don’t avoid all soy. Fermented soy is reportedly quite good for you.
I would love to hear any feedback about this recipe. Did you make it? Did you enjoy it? Did you make any adjustments to it?
