Menu Monday

Menu for the week of 12 April 2012

The “rules” of our household diet can be found in the tab above labeled Hallee’s Galley and further explained in Our Diet.

I usually serve leftovers for lunch the next day, or we’ll save them during the week to graze lunch on the weekends. One meal a week, we eat whatever we want. This is usually our “Dinner Out” meal.

Almost all of the breads are homemade using fresh milled flour. I’ll continue to link to my recipes as I post them. Our daily bread is Whole Wheat Honey Oatmeal Bread.

Here’s the menu for my family for the week of April 12th. This is a quiet week in our household, which is a good thing.  We’re gearing up to publish Book 2 of the Jewel Trilogy on the 23rd (NOTE:  This is the last week to get Book 1, Sapphire Ice, for just 0$.99!), and I really need an uninterrupted schedule this week.  As far as desserts go, I think Gregg and the boys are going to make some Gingerbread Cookies.  Kaylee asked if I’d help her make a chocolate mousse pie — that will be a lot of fun!

chicken bacon, scrambled eggs, fresh fruit

I cook dinner for the Glen Eden Youth Center volunteers on Monday nights.  Tonight we’re having:

“Chicken” [turkey] & Dumplings, garden salad, Crusty Whole Wheat Cheese Bread

breakfast with the church youth group

I have a women’s group meeting at church.  We were told to bring our favorite salad or dessert.  I’m going to bring a spinach salad with strawberries, walnuts, red onion, and a balsamic vinegar dressing.

For the family, I’m leaving:

Black beans, Perfect Brown Rice, green peas, Old Fashioned Cornbread, garden salad

Spaghetti with homemade Kamut flour noodles, Whole Wheat French Bread, garden salad

BBQ Grilled Salmon (cooked under the broiler), Superlative Sour Cream Potatoes, steamed broccoli, Coastal Cole Slaw

We host a small groups at our home on Sunday nights.  I usually prepare a main dish and everyone else brings sides, salads, breads, and dessert.  This week, we’re having:
