Menu Monday 5 Oct 2009

retro-cooking Menu Monday 5 Oct 2009

The “rules” of our household diet: About every two to three hours between meals, we eat healthy snacks like fruit, nuts, yogurt, or a smoothie. We avoid any pork and any bottom feeders like catfish and shellfish. We avoid artificial sweeteners, like Splenda, Aspartame, and High Fructose Corn Syrup and unhealthy toxins like trans fatty acids and MSG.

But, one meal a week, we eat whatever we want. This is usually our “Dinner Out” meal.

I don’t typically have room in my menu for leftovers. If I have any, I usually serve them for lunch the next day, or we’ll save them during the week to graze lunch on the weekends.

Almost all of the breads are homemade – I’ll add links to recipes as I post them.

Here’s the menu plan for the week of 5 October 2009 for my family. As far as desserts go, I’m going to make a Chewy Chocolate Cookies (recipe will follow) and Kaylee has asked for a Pear Pie (recipe will follow).
