retro-cooking Menu Monday 31 Aug 2009

The “rules” of our household diet: About every two to three hours between meals, we eat healthy snacks like fruit, nuts, yogurt, or a smoothie. We avoid any pork and any bottom feeders like catfish and shellfish. We avoid artifical sweeteners, like Splenda, Aspartame, and High Fructose Corn Syrup and unhealthy toxins like trans fatty acids and MSG.

But, one meal a week, we eat whatever we want. This is usually our “Dinner Out” meal.

Here’s the menu for this week for my family. As far as desserts go, I think I’m going to send my husband a box, so I’m going to make his favorite cookies, and I think the boys and I will make sugar cookies and decorate them. We’re doing the letter D this week, so we’ll likely do letter D’s, and maybe dogs and dinosaurs.
