Here’s the menu for my family for the week of November 15th. As far as desserts go, my cookie jar is full; however, I’m cooking a full Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday, so I will be making a pumpkin pie and a pecan pie! Join me Friday for a Thanksgiving Extravaganza! Ideas, recipes, tips, decorating — we’ll make a day of it!

I was very curious about the way Stormie Omartian addressed this chapter. She basically said that if you (the wife) keep your husband a priority, then it will help him keep his priorities straight. Then she spent the chapter explaining how to keep your husband a priority.
Pin ItHere’s the menu for my family for the week of November 8th. As far as desserts go, I am going to begin baking for my husband’s birthday and Christmas baking, so I have some red velvet cookies to make. I also think that I’m going to make some apple turnovers or something similar to post a recipe for your holiday baking planning.
Pin ItThere was a time in our marriage when there was little trust between me and Gregg. I’d say one thing and he wouldn’t believe it. He’d say another thing and I wouldn’t believe it. It was a very dark time in our lives, and even typing about it and thinking about itelicits a bit of an emotional reaction in my heart.
Pin ItShopping one day, Scott brought to me a can of kids’ pasta in ABC and 123 shapes. This was an organic version of Chef Boyardee’s famous product, but the ingredient list was as long as my arm and it cost $3. So, I told him, “No.” He put the can back then pointed my attention to pasta made in the same shapes.
Pin ItIn observing the diet, I will eat only vegetables, fruits, and unleavened bread that does not contain any ingredient that is not made directly from a vegetable or fruit. For instance, I am going to make tortillas out of fresh ground flour and coconut oil (instead of shortening or beef tallow). When I make a salad, I’ll flavor it with olive oil (cold pressed) and lemon juice. I will only drink water. I will allow my kids to eat dairy, but I likely will not be preparing meat for them.
Pin ItThis chapter thoroughly touches on all areas of media, from magazine articles to lyrics in music, to television shows and commercials, and how these areas in our lives continually and constantly sexually objectify women. You can’t watch a college football game without a scantily clad model touting a beer brand. You can’t watch a crime show on television without a scene in a bar with naked pole dancers kissing each other.
Pin ItDuring an airborne operation, my husband, Gregg, discovered that he was allergic to fire ants. He parachuted out of a plane and landed on a fire ant bed. He was bitten several times, resulting in his body producing massive amounts of histamines that started to send him into anaphylaxis. After taking a dose of Benadryl, we both still thought maybe he should go to the emergency room, just in case.
Pin ItHere’s the menu for my family for the week of September 13th. This is my first week with my new schedule, so I will be doing all of my baking on Monday. My husband has requested Whole Wheat Oatmeal Raisin Cinnamon Chip Oatmeal Cookies. I also may try my hand at carrot cake – something I have never made before but something I’ve always wanted to try. A friend of mine posted on her Facebook a chocolate chip whole wheat pumpkin muffin recipe and said it was delicious. I have the rest of last year’s pumpkin in the freezer still, and pumpkins growing in the garden that will be used to replace the stash, so I need to do some pumpkin baking. I think chocolate chip pumpkin muffins is a brilliant use of my supply.
Pin ItHere’s the menu for my family for the week of September 6th. As far as desserts go, my daughter is hungry for a pumpkin pie. I think I’ll also make some sort of cookie – but I haven’t decided what yet. Maybe chocolate chocolate chip.
