Menu for the week of 14 March 2011
The “rules” of our household diet can be found in the tab above labeled Hallee’s Galley and further explained in Our Diet.
I usually serve leftovers for lunch the next day, or we’ll save them during the week to graze lunch on the weekends. One meal a week, we eat whatever we want. This is usually our “Dinner Out” meal.
Almost all of the breads are homemade using fresh milled flour. I’ll continue to link to my recipes as I post them. Our daily bread is Whole Wheat Honey Oatmeal Bread.
Here’s the menu for my family for the week of March 14th. This is an unusual week for me. Our church is taking part in a call to 40 days of fasting and prayer. I’ve decided to do a Daniel Fast throughout the 40-days, and that begins on Wednesday. Gregg’s food options in Afghanistan aren’t great, so he will maintain his weekly day of a full fast. Kaylee is going to be fasting from refined sugar. Scott and Johnathan will not be fasting.
On top of that, I have a Kentucky Romance Writers Workshop this weekend that will involve eating dinner out three times, and the children eating elsewhere.
Spanish Rice (recipe to follow), corn, Old Fashioned Cornbread
Turkey Sausage Spaghetti, French Bread, garden salad
for me: black beans & rice, corn
for the children: baked chicken legs, black beans & rice, corn
dinner out for me
Hallee’s Heavenly Homemade Pizza for the children
a re-do from last week:
Very Unordinary Chunky Vegetarian Chili, salad, grilled cheese sandwiches for the children
