Menu Monday 11 January 10
The “rules” of our household diet: About every two to three hours between meals, we eat healthy snacks like fruit, nuts, yogurt, or a smoothie. We avoid any pork and any bottom feeders like catfish and shellfish. We avoid artificial sweeteners and unhealthy toxins such as those in preservatives.
One meal a week, we eat whatever we want. This is usually our “Dinner Out” meal.
If I have any leftovers, I usually serve them for lunch the next day, or we’ll save them during the week to graze lunch on the weekends.
Almost all of the breads are homemade – I’ll continue to link to my recipes as I post them.
My husband is home for the next three weeks. We are leaving children with my parents this coming weekend and will be hiding away in a hotel suite for three days. The kitchen in the suite does not have a stove – just a microwave, so I’m taking with me my George Foreman Grill and a griddle. I’m going to try to get some breads baked before we leave so that we have homemade bread for the trip.
Here’s the menu for my family for the week of Monday, January 10th. As far as desserts go, Gregg is going to make a Gingerbread icosagon with the boys. We found some beautiful blueberries on sale at Kroger this week, so I plan on making a lemon/blueberry cake. I’ll post that recipe as soon as it’s done.
