Tip: Slicing Basil

A quick and easy way to slice fresh basil is:

Take the big stems off of the basil.


Stack it up with the widest piece on the bottom.


Roll into a tight roll.


Starting at the end with the tip of the leaf, make very thin slices.

Perfectly sliced basil — top your favorite salad or pizza, or mix with mayonnaise, or toss with some tomato, mozzarella cheese, and olive oil.
