Old Fashioned Pecan Pie
Old Fashioned Pecan Pie
I love pecan pie. It is absolutely one of my favorite pies. This was the first time I made this particular recipe and I loved it. It’s easy, few ingredients, and tastes fantastic. I used whole wheat flour and coconut oil for the crust.
pastry for 1-crust pie shell
3 eggs
⅔ cup sugar
½ tsp salt
⅓ cup butter, melted
1 cup dark corn syrup
1 cup pecan halves
rolling pin
pie plate
bowl
mixer
method to melt butter (either glass bowl and microwave or small saucepan)
measuring cups/spoons
Prepare pie crust.
Melt butter.
Preheat oven to 375° degrees F.
Mix everything but the pecans in the bowl.
Beat until well mixed.
Stir in the pecans.
Pour into pie plate.
Bake at 375° degrees F for 40 to 50 minutes or until set.
Serve slightly warm or cold.
This was really good with fresh whipped cream.

I too LOVE pecan pie!!! I make it for Thanksgiving as well. Only difference I see is I use maple syrup in place of the sugar and corn syrup. It is SO yummy!!!! Mmmm….now I can’t wait to make it :)
