This is the re-make of a recipe that called for processed food. Instead of cream of chicken soup and biscuit mix, I made everything from scratch. It was DELICIOUS. And, it was QUICK, and EASY. I had all of the elements put together in 10 minutes. Dinner was on the table 30 minutes later.

I love pecan pie. It is absolutely one of my favorite pies. This was the first time I made this particular recipe for pumpkin pie and I loved it. It’s easy, few ingredients, and tastes fantastic. I used whole wheat flour and coconut oil for the crust.
Pin ItLattice topped pies do nothing more than to make a pie visually appealing. You can perform the same function of creating a vent within the pie with several slits cut into the top crust of pie, or using a pie bird. However, I’m a big fan of visually appealing food, and I think that some pies (i.e. cherry pies) require the extra effort to make them taste better. (kidding) (well, mostly kidding)
Peaches just taste like summertime to me. I love biting into a sun-warmed peach and having the burst of juice and sweet flesh fill my mouth. I had a big basket of peaches recently and wanted to capture some of that summer sunshine for dessert that night. So I made a fresh peach pie as if it were an apple pie. It was amazing.

She had a peach tree last year that would not quit, and when I was visiting this past weekend, she sent me home with seven gallons of frozen chopped peaches, with the only request that some of the preserves made be jelly because she doesn’t like chunks on her toast.
