Menu Monday

Menu for the week of June 14, 2010

Here’s the menu for my family for the week of June 14th. This should be week 4 of the Abs Diet, but I did not follow it last week.  I started volunteering cooking at a soup kitchen and worked 3 days last week coupled with the fact that we had Vacation Bible School all week at church.  It was enough that I ate and that I fed my kids, and, to be honest, two of those meals were McDonalds and pizza delivery.

Things like this only work when you’re consistent, and I seem to have had a week on, week off mode since deciding to do it.  I haven’t weighed myself, but guessing, I’d say that any weight I may have lost in the beginning is back.  So, I need to get serious about this.  I’m going to pray about it, something that I have not done (strangely) and make sure that I’m doing the diet that I should be doing and the exercise that would most benefit me.

My dad is in town visiting me the beginning of this week, so the first few meals are not necessarily Abs Diet, but what I eat will be.

Kaylee is on her mission trip this week.  The boys will be eating with me, mostly. There’s a lack of starch in the Abs Diet menu, so I’ll be giving them starches here and there. I’ve added their meals to the menu. Those things I will not be eating with the boys, you will find the words in green.

I will be posting about this in detail at the end of this four weeks.

The “rules” of our household diet can be found in the tab above labeled Hallee’s Galley and further explained in Our Diet.

I usually serve leftovers for lunch the next day, or we’ll save them during the week to graze lunch on the weekends. One meal a week, we eat whatever we want. This is usually our “Dinner Out” meal.

Almost all of the breads are homemade using fresh milled flour. I’ll continue to link to my recipes as I post them.

For desserts this week, I’m making some ice cream today and I need to get a batch or six of Oatmeal Raisin Cinnamon Chip Cookies in the mail to my husband.
