  • What a super idea! I’ve eyed making my own hummus, but have avoided it since I don’t want to buy tahini paste. I linked to this on my weekly roundup, post is under my name. Thanks for sharing!

Hi! I found your recipe from Angie’s Healthy Living Blog. I made hummus this weekend using your sunflower seed tahini paste — OMG! The paste was so easy to make, and the hummus came out amazing! The total price for 1 cup of tahini paste was only $0.70 — so much more affordable than store bought, and tastier! Thank you!

  • [...] Tahini paste can be made from one cup of seeds (sesame, sunflower or a combination of the two) and 1/4 cup of olive oil. Put the two ingredients in a food processor and pulse until smooth. Want more instructions? Visit here. [...]

Finally! I finished my post. Here’s the link: http://mieletlait.com/?p=205

The final product was exceptionally yummy!

  • I am so excited to find this…I’m not very adventurous in the kitchen, so I like to find people who have tested recipes or substitutions before I try them! :) We love hummus and tahini, but, my husband has an allergy to sesame oil (or sesame seeds in large quantities)…I am so happy to find an easy and frugal substitute for the sesame!! :) I can’t wait to try this and surprise him! :)

As with Veronica, I am very excited I found this, and I just had to say thank you, I’ve been looking for a substitute for sesame seed tahini forever! My fiance is wicked allergic to sesame and has never been able to try my humus, just tried it with sunflower seeds and I actually thinks its even tastier now! Thank you so so so so much!! :-)
