Buttery Butter “Cookie Machine” Cookies
Butter “Cookie Machine” Cookies
I have a Wilton Cookie Pro. I use this recipe to make different shapes out of the cookie machine. It’s awesome for Christmas cookies, because of the different shapes that they have available.
3 ½ cups whole wheat flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 ½ cups butter
1 cup sugar
1 egg
2 TBS whole milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
½ tsp almond extract
large mixing bowl
spoon
mixer
cookie machine (cookie press)
smaller mixing bowl
sifter
wire cooling rack
Preheat oven to 375° degrees F.
Thoroughly cream butter and sugar. Add egg, milk, vanilla, and almond extract. Beat well.
In a smaller bowl, sift together flour and baking powder. Gradually add to creamed mixture. Mix well.
Place in cookie machine and press cookies onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 10-12 minutes or until lightly browned around the edges. Remove cookies from sheet. Cook on a wire cooling rack.
7-8 dozen cookies

I dip in melted chocolate. I will post instructions on how to do that and link that here when the post is complete.
I would love to hear any feedback about this recipe. Did you make it? Did you enjoy it? Did you make any adjustments to it?

Looking at the picture of these cookies brought back childhood memories! My mother made these every Christmas. I do a lot of baking at Christmas-time but for some reason, never made these. I was, recently, given a cookie-press ans was about to search for a recipe. And I got yor post! YEAH! Now, I do have a question. If I omit the almond extract, will it be okay, or should I replace it w/ more vanilla? My son is allergic to nuts. Thank you.
I would just replace it with more vanilla.
So glad the timing worked out for you! Yay!
Hallee- how do these freeze?
They will freeze well — just make sure they’re air tight.
Just made these with my husband and daughter. We’ve passed some out to family at this point and everyone agrees, these are the BEST flavored spritz cookies we’ve ever had. The taste is really accented by the almond extract, I think. Thanks so much for the great recipe and the opportunity to make these!! :)
I just made these w/ my 2 yr old and my 7 yr old boys. Not only did they have lots of fun making and decorating them, they LOVED testing them! These cookies came out great, even w/ omitting the almond extract and doubling up on the vanilla. Thanks, Hailee, for yet another fabulous recipe!
God bless!
Thanks, Hallee!
We really like your spritz recipe!
