The other morning, Kaylee had a rough start. She slept in, she was absolutely exhausted from two away softball games in a row – getting her to bed well after 11:00 each night, and she felt frustrated by sleeping in.
As I made her lunch, on a whim, I wrote a quick note to her.
After posting the Expectations post a few weeks ago, I got bombarded with questions. Several questions in particular talked about food and toddlers. Many mothers complained that their toddlers would only eat chicken nuggets or peanut butter & jelly sandwiches.
I read it kind of confused with myself. I’ve been a mother for nearly 14 years. Why didn’t I have anything worthwhile to add to the conversation? Then it occurred to me.
I have a Google thing that patrols the internet looking for the name of my blog or the link to my blog. I get a ….

Since the beginning of the 20th century, there has been an effort to denigrate men, feminize them, render them incapable of any kind of clear thought outside of Monday night football. Sitcoms and commercials make fathers out to be impotent dimwits, buffoons, idiots, while a take-charge woman cleans up the mess behind them. The more aware of it I have become, the more irritated I get at it, and the less popular culture I’m willing to endure.
