As far as desserts go, I have to do a graduation cake for a friend’s daughter, a birthday cake for a friend’s daughter, and Kaylee is having a party Friday night. Here’s the menu for my family for the week of May 9th. I’m keeping the menu simple this week, because I have a lot of work to do in the garden. As far as desserts go, Kaylee is fasting from sugar this week, so I’m going to just have some fresh berries and (unsweetened) whipped cream to eat as a dessert, and I’m not going to make anything here that would tempt her.Pin It
Here’s the menu for my family for the week of My 2nd. Today and tomorrow is Pastors’ Fellowship at our church. I am SO excited about this. I’ll be making Hallee’s Travel Sandwiches to add to the sandwich pile as we serve lunch to hundreds of pastors and their wives and various other music leaders and church goers from within the First Church of God.
As far as desserts go, Scott has been begging me to make Jell-O. I have some unflavored gelatin and I’m going to play around with some fruit juices. I think I’ll also fill the cookie jar with some of DoodleRoo’s Snickerdoodles. It’s also Cinco de Mayo AND Mother’s Day week. This happened last year! We’ll be making a festive Tres Leches cake to have with our Taco Dinner on the 5th. And I hope to make my mom something special to take with me to my parents’ house this weekend.
Kaylee has testing for the next two weeks. She said, “I’m going to need some good breakfasts the two weeks of testing.” It made me laugh, because she apparently has NO idea just how good she eats in the morning — and when teachers say that, they’re talking to the kids who are lucky to get a pop-tart to go with their can of soda. But, I’ll rev up the protein a little for her, so that she feels like she’s made a positive change toward a good breakfast. She also asked me to make her a High Protein Breakfast Smoothie every morning. I have these portable smoothie containers with a ball whisk in them that will be perfect for her to take to school.
Here’s the menu for my family for the week of April 25th. As far as desserts go, I’ve been really hungry for apple pie, so I think I’ll make a whole pie or a few turnovers. I also did a commissary trip this weekend, so my baking stash is replenished. I bought a couple bags of peanut butter chips – I may play around with a recipe using those.Pin It
Here’s the menu for my family for the week of April 18th. As far as desserts go, last week I thought I was cooking for Kaylee’s softball team, but that is this week. So, I’ll be making Delectable Deluxe Brownies Tuesday. We’re observing a Passover Seder on Wednesday, and I’m going to attempt a flour-free lemon cheesecake. The children will be making Resurrection Cookies Saturday night.Pin It

As far as desserts go, the weather is remarkably warmer than when I left for spring break, so I’m going to pull out the ice cream maker and make some maple ice cream. I also need to fill the cookie jar with something yummy, and get some Oatmeal Raisin Cinnamon Chip Cookies in the mail to Gregg. I’m making dinner for Kaylee’s softball team Wednesday night, so I’m also going to make several batches of Delectable Deluxe Brownies. We also have four softball games this week, so I’m trying to at least make the protein of the dinner portable for Kaylee to grab and eat in the 30-45 minutes she has from the time she gets home from school to the time she has to be at the softball field.Pin It

Here’s the menu for my family for the week of March 21st. Last week, I told you that our church is taking part in a call to 40 days of fasting and prayer. I told you that I’d decided to do a Daniel Fast throughout the 40-days, but I changed my mind. I absolutely did not feel led to begin a Daniel Fast. Instead, I will be participating in the fasting in a different way. I will update you as that happens.
Kaylee’s softball season begins today. She has a game every single night this week, and every night most weeks until the season ends. Our meals are going to be portable for the away games, allowing the boys to eat on our way to the games.Pin It
Here’s the menu for my family for the week of March 14th. This is an unusual week for me. Our church is taking part in a call to 40 days of fasting and prayer. I’ve decided to do a Daniel Fast throughout the 40-days, and that begins on Wednesday. Gregg’s food options in Afghanistan aren’t great, so he will maintain his weekly day of a full fast. Kaylee is going to be fasting from refined sugar. Scott and Johnathan will not be fasting.
On top of that, I have a Kentucky Romance Writers Workshop this weekend that will involve eating dinner out three times, and the children eating elsewhere.Pin It
