Here’s the menu for my family for the week of June 27th. Gregg is home (yay!) and Tuesday this week is our 9th wedding anniversary. As such, I’m going to attempt to create a red velvet cheesecake my friend Heather from Out of the Box Into the Kitchen recommended to me. The recipe she gave me called for a Devil’s Food cake mix, so I’m going to try to recreate the recipe real food style. I also found a cookie cutter in the shape of Lightning McQueen, and may make some Traditional Sugar Cookies and let my boys decorate some cookies. We also have a ton of birthday cake left.

Here’s the menu for my family for the week of June 20th. Gregg comes home Thursday night!! My sister-in-law will also be in town Thursday night and my parents on Friday because we’re having a big combination birthday party for Scott and Johnathan on Saturday. As far as desserts go, I’ll be filling the cookie jar with something fun so that there’s cookies available for all of our company. I’ll also be making a large sheet cake for the boys’ party, and some homemade ice cream for the party.
Pin ItHere’s the menu for my family for the week of June 13th. As far as desserts go, we’re going with fresh fruits, fresh whipped cream, and maybe some Jell-O this week. We have Vacation Bible School all week, and they’ll be eating all sorts of snacks and such there that we don’t normally have around our household. Consequently, I’m going to try to keep the white sugar consumption down to a minimum.
And since we have Vacation Bible School all week, and have to be at the church every night early, I’m going to be pushing dinnertime up by about 90 minutes every day. Meals are going to be incredibly out of whack all week long.
Pin ItHere’s the menu for my family for the week of June 6th. My menu will be scaled down a bit for the next few weeks. Kaylee is gone, and Gregg won’t be home until later in the month, so the meals are going to be much more toddler-friendly. As far as desserts go, I have some fresh peaches, so I think I’m going to make a Fresh Peach Pie. I also made a French Vanilla Bean Honey Ice Cream – I will post that recipe this week.
Pin ItHere’s the menu for my family for the week of May 23rd. As far as desserts go, I have to do a graduation cake for a friend’s daughter, a birthday cake for a friend’s daughter, and Kaylee is having a party Friday night. So, I’m not going to do a lot of dessert cooking this week in preparation for the end of the week.
Pin ItHere’s the menu for my family for the week of May 16th. As far as desserts go, right now my kids are content with Snow Cones and ice cream. I may make a batch of Whole Wheat Dark Chocolate Chip Cookies just to keep the cookie jar filled.
Pin ItHere’s the menu for my family for the week of May 9th. I’m keeping the menu simple this week, because I have a lot of work to do in the garden. As far as desserts go, Kaylee is fasting from sugar this week, so I’m going to just have some fresh berries and (unsweetened) whipped cream to eat as a dessert, and I’m not going to make anything here that would tempt her.
Pin ItHere’s the menu for my family for the week of My 2nd. Today and tomorrow is Pastors’ Fellowship at our church. I am SO excited about this. I’ll be making Hallee’s Travel Sandwiches to add to the sandwich pile as we serve lunch to hundreds of pastors and their wives and various other music leaders and church goers from within the First Church of God.
As far as desserts go, Scott has been begging me to make Jell-O. I have some unflavored gelatin and I’m going to play around with some fruit juices. I think I’ll also fill the cookie jar with some of DoodleRoo’s Snickerdoodles. It’s also Cinco de Mayo AND Mother’s Day week. This happened last year! We’ll be making a festive Tres Leches cake to have with our Taco Dinner on the 5th. And I hope to make my mom something special to take with me to my parents’ house this weekend.
Kaylee has testing for the next two weeks. She said, “I’m going to need some good breakfasts the two weeks of testing.” It made me laugh, because she apparently has NO idea just how good she eats in the morning — and when teachers say that, they’re talking to the kids who are lucky to get a pop-tart to go with their can of soda. But, I’ll rev up the protein a little for her, so that she feels like she’s made a positive change toward a good breakfast. She also asked me to make her a High Protein Breakfast Smoothie every morning. I have these portable smoothie containers with a ball whisk in them that will be perfect for her to take to school.
Here’s the menu for my family for the week of April 25th. As far as desserts go, I’ve been really hungry for apple pie, so I think I’ll make a whole pie or a few turnovers. I also did a commissary trip this weekend, so my baking stash is replenished. I bought a couple bags of peanut butter chips – I may play around with a recipe using those.
Pin ItHere’s the menu for my family for the week of April 18th. As far as desserts go, last week I thought I was cooking for Kaylee’s softball team, but that is this week. So, I’ll be making Delectable Deluxe Brownies Tuesday. We’re observing a Passover Seder on Wednesday, and I’m going to attempt a flour-free lemon cheesecake. The children will be making Resurrection Cookies Saturday night.
