Here’s the menu plan for the week of 5 October 2009 for my family. As far as desserts go, I’m going to make a Chewy Chocolate Cookies, and Kaylee has asked for a Pear Pie.
Pin ItI was hungry for something creamy and pasta-y with chicken and veggies, so I put “pasta with chicken and veggies” on the menu this week and made the recipe up on the fly. It turned out very nice.
Pin ItI spent the day canning pears and peaches. The peaches were for my sister. She had a peach tree last year that would not quit, and when I was visiting this past weekend, she sent me home with seven gallons of frozen chopped peaches, with the only request that some of the preserves made be jelly because she doesn’t like chunks on her toast.

Pin ItLast night, we had a fried fish dinner. It was quite yummy, albeit not quite “healthy” in the whole grains/good fats arena. My family is good with that (ha!) and I try to indulge fried fish or fried chicken about once a month.
Pin ItEven though baked is “healthier,” this dish is really, really good. I like to serve it with hush puppies, fried potatoes, and cole slaw.
