Here’s the menu for my family for the week of February 14th. As far as desserts go, we have Floating Hearts to enjoy today, and I’ll be making fruit pizzas (recipe to follow) for a night at church this week!

While all this was going on, a woman got out of the passenger’s seat of the car, opened the trunk, removed a walker, and started slowly hobbling her way into the restaurant. The doctor ordered and the waitress came and went while this woman inch by inch made it to the table.
Pin ItHere’s the menu for my family for the week of February 7th. As far as desserts go, I have several Valentine’s Bouquets to make this week, so we will be making quite a few batches of Traditional Sugar Cookies.
I am going into week 2 of a 16-week personal fitness challenge, which will include what I eat and when I eat it, and will involve me working out and running daily. I’m not going to do a lot about it here. My husband, Gregg, is starting up a blog about his personal journey with fitness and will leave all of that kind of blogging to him. There will be times that the kids eat something different from me (for instance, I don’t expect them to want tuna in their scrambled eggs). In those instances, I’ll have two meals listed – one for me and one for them.

I’m also going to send him some homemade granola bars, and I think I’m going to make the kids some Decadent Cookies & Cream Cupcakes.
I am personally focusing on a four-month personal fitness challenge, which will include what I eat and when I eat it, and will involve me working out and running daily. Pin ItHere’s the menu for my family for the week of January 24th. For most of January, I’ve been traveling or recovering from traveling. As I type this, it’s Monday morning and I’m tired of eating out (and gaining weight), scrambling to get one suitcase unpacked and laundry done in order to get another suitcase packed, and desperate to get my household back on schedule. I have no plans to travel until at least the first weekend in March, and at best the first week of April. I need to make granola bars (which, in searching for the recipe to link for you, I strangely do not have one – that will be corrected as soon as possible), my whole wheat crackers jar is empty, and the cake plate is barren. My household is in a bit of disarray, but this week will correct that and the future will maintain that.
Pin ItAs I’ve said in My Schedule (see the tabs above) long ago I had a full-time job with professional and personal commitments that kept me extremely busy. However, eating out all of the time was no a fiscal option, and fast food was not a healthy option, so I made sure that I cooked dinner every night. The only way to be able to do that with the lifestyle we lived and to eat before 9 o’clock every night was to have a menu plan.
Pin ItLooks like a good portion of the United States is getting blanketed in snow over the next few days. What’s better on a snowy holiday weekend than a pot of homemade soup?
Pin ItHere’s the menu for my family for the week of December 27th. As far as desserts go, we still have some Captain Crunch Candy and some fudge left, but the cookie jar is empty. I will probably make some easy cookie to fill the jar and use the left over marshmallow cream and Rice Crispies from the goodies I made last week and make some Rice Crispies treats. We’ll also make a celebration New Year’s 2011 cake.
Pin ItBut, for those of you who may not want delicate fried dough sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar or drizzled with warm honey (YUM!), here is a list of some ideas for Christmas morning. Some things can be made ahead of time so that all you have to do is serve, and some things are just simply festive.
Pin ItHere’s the menu for my family for Christmas week! As far as desserts go, we will be doing Christmas Baking Bonanza! I will be putting together gift baskets with the goodies and with my Whole Wheat Honey Oatmeal Bread.
