Loving a Life of Biblical Womanhood
I’m a worrier. I actually drive my husband to distraction with it. I don’t verbalize most of it, but he knows me, so he knows. When faced with situations, my mind goes through what the worse case scenario would be. I think it’s a manner of preparing me for whatever is, and if it’s not the worse case, then I can handle whatever it is.
Gregg judges a Mexican restaurant by their tamales. If they aren’t hand made, steamed in a corn husk, with the right favors he simply won’t go back to that restaurant. Consequently, it took me several years to even attempt a recipe for tamales. I was so excited to find one that he loves.

If I were the last man on the planet to think so, I would want the honor of saying no woman should go before me into combat to defend my country. A man who endorses women in combat is not pro-woman; he’s a wimp. He should be ashamed. For most of history, in most cultures, he would have been utterly scorned as a coward to promote such an idea. Part of the meaning of manhood as God created us is the sense of responsibility for the safety and welfare of our women.

Here’s the menu for my family for the week of July 26, 2010. As far as desserts go, we still have leftover birthday cake, so I’ll probably not make much this week. If I do anything, it will be some homemade strawberry ice cream and some cookies to load up the cookie jar. We are going out of town Wednesday morning and will be home Saturday, so I’m not going to post those days.
Pin ItSo, I went to bed Tuesday night praying that things would work out. I didn’t hear from Gregg Wednesday morning, and briefly wondered if he was working or on a plane. Wednesday afternoon, he instant messaged me from the Dubai airport! AND, he would be home on Thursday! TWO full days earlier than originally scheduled.
I took a small ceramic plate and made five separate globs: red, blue, green, yellow, orange, and purple. I put it in between two boys who each had a sheet of construction paper. We’ve done this before – we do this often. Painting with brushes, sponges, fingers — none of it is new. But this time, Scott decided to lay his entire hand on the globs of paint at one time. With glee, he smeared his hand over his yellow construction paper and exclaimed at the fact that the colors all mixed together made brown.
