A “Sweetheart Steak” is a rib-eye steak specially cut to resemble a heart. There is a membrane running down the middle of it that separates the two steaks. It is a tender, beautiful cut of meat, and just fun enough to be a perfect main course for a Valentine’s Day dinner.

This a simple, hands-off side dish. A light olive oil with the simple seasoning of salt and pepper is all you need.
Pin ItI found this recipe while reading a book called The Reluctant Entertainer. As soon as I read it, I have been waiting for an opportunity to make it. I love the concept of making noodle strips out of zucchini. This was absolutely delicious. The perfect accompaniment to the steak with which we enjoyed them.
Pin ItKaylee ate a broccoli cheese soup in a bread bowl at Panera Bread one time and then proceeded to beg and beg me to make some. I made my Whole Wheat Bread Bowls, then found a couple of recipes for broccoli cheese soup and combined them. At the end, I blended the entire soup, but we didn’t like the consistency. Doing it again, I’d maybe blend half of it and leave the rest chunky.
Pin ItKaylee’s great-grandfather and his sons were bakers in Florida for decades. This bread is a similar recipe to one that they sold retail and to restaurants. The herbs in the dough are very light – just enough to enhance the cheese. It is perfect to serve as a side to almost any kind of soup. It is absolutely light and delicious.
Pin ItI’m not saying give up on pizza. Who would want to do that? I am saying it is possible to make a great tasting and actually HEALTHY and GOOD FOR YOU pizza.

Pin ItThis is an awesome, hearty soup. It is packed full of good-for-you yumminess and will beat any chicken soup in any can on a grocery store shelf. On a whim one day while making chicken noodle soup, I tossed in a few handfuls of fresh spinach. Oh yes – this took this amazing soup over the edge. Don’t let the winter get by without making yourself a big pot of this – and freeze some for later. You’ll be glad you did.
Pin ItI was shopping at Whole Foods one day and saw lamb shank in their meet counter. I’d just put a bunch of fennel in my basket, and when I saw the shank I thought how good a lamb and fennel stew would be. I’d never done stew without beef before, but the final result was amazing.
Pin ItI created this recipe after researching pummelos. I kept finding it paired with avocados in different things, so I put together a quick salsa. I was a bit worried about the cilantro, but the final product was very tasty.
