Sweetheart Steak for Two

Sweetheart Steak for Two

A “Sweetheart Steak” is a rib-eye steak specially cut to resemble a heart.  There is a membrane running down the middle of it that separates the two steaks.  It is a tender, beautiful cut of meat, and just fun enough to be a perfect main course for a Valentine’s Day dinner.

INGREDIENTS:

1 Sweetheart Steak
Seasonings of your choice.
I like Worcestershire sauce and a seasoning called “Montreal Steak Seasoning.”
1 tsp extra virgin olive oil

SUPPLIES:

Oven-proof pan

PREPARATION:

Preheat oven to 350° degrees F (120° degrees C).

DIRECTIONS:

Season your steak.

Heat your pan until very hot.

Add the olive oil.  Add the steak.  Sear one side then turn it and sear the other side.

Place in the oven and cook to the desired doneness.  (5 minutes gave me medium.)

YIELD:

2 servings
