Make a batch of Chocolate Buttercream Frosting. Frost your cupcakes. Make sure your assistant doesn’t get any on his white turtleneck (even though it appears that mine got some on his chin.)

Here’s the menu plan for the week of Monday, 14 December 2009 for my family. As far as desserts go, I’ll be doing all of my Christmas baking this week. Last week, sickness ran through our house, so I didn’t do a lot of cooking or baking and I have some time to make up for.
Pin ItIn my post about cancer awareness month way back on October 6th of last year, I encouraged everyone to order a free breast self exam shower card here and to use it. Select a day once a month to do a self-exam. I also encouraged everyone to find a buddy and remind each other to do your breast exams.
Pin ItAs I cooked and thought of all of these things, I wondered if my friend felt this deluge of emotions as she enters the final stretch in her pregnancy. If this moment means so much more to her now that she’s suffered such horrible loss this year. Not to say that the child will mean more than her daughter, but the knowledge of the journey garnered, for me at least, a greater appreciation for just how big this blessing from God is.
This dish is one of my daughter’s favorites. She gets excited whenever she sees it on the menu. I made it Tuesday this week and she asked Sunday and Monday when I was going to make it. This is amazing comfort food.
Pin ItMy friend Meg is guest posting today. Meg and I are very similar. We are both homemakers, we are both mothers of 3, we both value and desire a closer relationship with God. Today, I hand my blog reins over to Meg, who will tell you how she does what she does with the budget she does it with, and I will allow you to be as impressed with her as I am. Enjoy Frugal Friday.
