Menu Monday 14 Dec 09
The “rules” of our household diet: About every two to three hours between meals, we eat healthy snacks like fruit, nuts, yogurt, or a smoothie. We avoid any pork and any bottom feeders like catfish and shellfish. We avoid artificial sweeteners and unhealthy toxins such as those in preservatives.
One meal a week, we eat whatever we want. This is usually our “Dinner Out” meal.
If I have any leftovers, I usually serve them for lunch the next day, or we’ll save them during the week to graze lunch on the weekends.
Almost all of the breads are homemade – I’ll continue to link to my recipes as I post them. I just go a grain mill, so I’m excited about learning how to grind my own wheat and make breads from them.
Here’s the menu plan for the week of Monday, 14 December 2009 for my family. As far as desserts go, I’ll be doing all of my Christmas baking this week. Last week, sickness ran through our house, so I didn’t do a lot of cooking or baking and I have some time to make up for.

Hallee! I was gonna make a button and you did it! It looks great! Thank you!!! (((hugs))) Now I just have to figure out how to put it on my blog for people to grab… maybe within the post each week?!?
Anyway, seriously, I will be over for dinner every night this week. :-)
Thanks for joining in… I love having you!
Dinner’s about 6:30 every night. (grin)
I’m emailing you from hallee@halleethehomemaker.com — Gregg wants to help you make a button.
Hi,
Our food rules are similar. My oldest son cannot have food colors, and we don’t eat MSG, artificial sweeteners, or BHT/BHA/TBHQ.
Do you make your biscuits and gravy with sausage, and if so would you share the brand? I’ve only found one type carried at one store that is MSG free!
Thanks!
I love making waffles and pancakes from scratch. I think they taste better.
You have a terrific menu planned.
I’m sorry I didn’t respond to this. I meant to, and never did.
I use turkey sausage – we don’t eat pork at all. I use Jennie-O brand, and from what I understand, their products are MSG free. I could be wrong, though, and if I am, I’ll research until I can find another brand.
If you have a Whole Foods, the meat manager should be able to help you with that.
