Hallee's Galley,
menus & menu planning
Here’s the menu for my family for the week of May 16th. As far as desserts go, right now my kids are content with Snow Cones and ice cream. I may make a batch of Whole Wheat Dark Chocolate Chip Cookies just to keep the cookie jar filled.

I try to keep chocolate chip cookies in our cookie jar all the time. My kids love them. Sometimes I’ll spread them into a jelly roll pan and cut them into bar cookies, other times I make traditional cookies. I love them with pecans or walnuts. Molasses keeps them chewy and gives them a more brown sugar flavor than most recipes.

Blog Stuff,
Giveaways
To aid you in your Christmas baking this year, we are giving away a Wilton Cookie Pro!
I have one and I LOVE it. I use it to make Chocolate Wreath Cookies and Butter Wreath Cookies for Christmas time. Once you have a whole pan of cookies, you can dip them in chocolate or white chocolate, sprinkle them, frost them, or just eat them as they cool.

According to the Abs Diet for Women, smoothies are perfect for meal substitutions (and when I say that, I’m referring to a lifestyle that has you eating something every couple of hours, not substituting only one of 2 or 3 meals a day – I believe that would not be beneficial to your body or your mind) and as potent snacks. The author says that they work for a number of reasons:

The thing about this recipe that has always amazed me is the lack of leavening. I think you just kind of beat the fluffiness in. They are so moist, and so chocolatey – perfect brownies recipe.

Make a batch of Chocolate Buttercream Frosting. Frost your cupcakes. Make sure your assistant doesn’t get any on his white turtleneck (even though it appears that mine got some on his chin.)

I use this recipe to make cookies in all different kinds of shapes. This dough is the perfect consistency if you have a cookie machine or cookie press, or if you want to pipe multicolored dough into a giant cookie. I have a Wilton Cookie Pro.
