This is the perfect recipe to make for a breakfast or brunch. They are packed with flavor from all of the spices, and the cream cheese is a beautifully decadent addition.

I love making this and taking it to events. It’s attractive, striking to the eye. It’s delicious. And, as far as desserts go, it’s moderately healthy compared to what desserts could be.
Pin ItI love blueberry muffins. I always have blueberries in the freezer for making smoothies, and all summer I keep fresh blueberries on hand in the refrigerator. About once a week, I make muffins for breakfast, and blueberry muffins are a family favorite.
Pin ItWe love smoothies. I use organic plain yogurt, so there is no added sugar there, and I use whey powder that does’t have any artificial sweeteners in it – be careful with labels because there are very few flavors within very few brands that have good ingredients. But we’re able to weed through them and come up with a amazing and healthy breakfast that is easily consumed “on the run.” I have this for breakfast at least once a week, and often for a mid-morning snack.
Pin ItHere’s the menu for my family for the week of February 20th. As far as desserts go, I’m going to make the kids a Deep Dark Chocolate Cake (HOW have I not posted that recipe yet? I will rectify that asap!) and will just have a container of whipped cream in the fridge to top it with as they get a slice!
Pin ItHere’s the menu for my family for the week of January 24th. For most of January, I’ve been traveling or recovering from traveling. As I type this, it’s Monday morning and I’m tired of eating out (and gaining weight), scrambling to get one suitcase unpacked and laundry done in order to get another suitcase packed, and desperate to get my household back on schedule. I have no plans to travel until at least the first weekend in March, and at best the first week of April. I need to make granola bars (which, in searching for the recipe to link for you, I strangely do not have one – that will be corrected as soon as possible), my whole wheat crackers jar is empty, and the cake plate is barren. My household is in a bit of disarray, but this week will correct that and the future will maintain that.
Pin ItBut, for those of you who may not want delicate fried dough sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar or drizzled with warm honey (YUM!), here is a list of some ideas for Christmas morning. Some things can be made ahead of time so that all you have to do is serve, and some things are just simply festive.
Pin ItHere’s the menu for my family for the week of November 8th. As far as desserts go, I am going to begin baking for my husband’s birthday and Christmas baking, so I have some red velvet cookies to make. I also think that I’m going to make some apple turnovers or something similar to post a recipe for your holiday baking planning.
Pin ItThis week, I begin a 21-Day Daniel Fast. My blog post about that can be found here, but basically, it’s vegan extreme – and I’m throwing in my own personal restriction to unleavened bread only. I’m really looking forward to it. I’m going to allow the kids some meat and dairy, so they’re not doing it with me. I’ll go ahead and list all of the meals so that you can see how I’m doing it.
Pin ItI heard someone on Twitter say they use their George Foreman grill to make pannini sandwiches, and I immediately thought about stuffed French toast. One morning, I tried it, and it was amazing – and so easy!
