I LOVE these pans. I will admit that I don’t use the 6″ pan often. I would consider this set complete without it. I use the 10″ pans ALL THE TIME. I use them for grilled cheese, casseroles, sauces, fried chicken, fried fish, doughnuts — you name it, I use these pans to cook it. I would be lost without these pans.

Here’s the menu for my family for the week of Monday, January 10th. As far as desserts go, Gregg is going to make a Gingerbread icosagon with the boys. We found some beautiful blueberries on sale at Kroger this week, so I plan on making a lemon/blueberry cake. I’ll post that recipe as soon as it’s done.
Pin ItMy husband does not like chocolate, so whenever I make Brownies, I always make him a pan of Blondies. Instead of relying on chocolate for their flavor, they’re all about the brown sugar, giving them a wonderful flavor of molasses, warm and inviting.
Pin ItThe thing about this recipe that has always amazed me is the lack of leavening. I think you just kind of beat the fluffiness in. They are so moist, and so chocolatey – perfect brownies recipe.
Pin ItDifferent things can affect my blood pressure. Some years ago, we found a recent research study that showed drinking just 8 ounces of pomegranate juice a day will reduce high blood pressure significantly. Since then, I have added a shot of pomegranate juice to my smoothies.
Pin ItHere’s the menu for my family for the week of Monday, 4th. As far as desserts go, I’m going to make a batch of cookies to fill the cookie jar and make a bundt cake of some kind to fill the cake plate.
Pin ItOur family always enjoys a traditional New Year’s Day menu. That is: Black Eyed Peas, Turnip Greens, and Cornbread.
I’ve never really researched the tradition, just accepted it as what “people do”. So, last week while I planned on writing this post, I discovered this fascinating information on Wikipedia:
Pin ItI don’t add meat to my greens. I love the flavor of the vegetable to be its primary flavoring. I always get compliments on how good they are.
Pin ItOur family always eats black eyed peas for New Year’s Day dinner. Because we don’t eat pork, we use a smoked turkey leg. It is a WONDERFUL substitution.
