This was just one paragraph from this entire chapter. This chapter was so important and so relevant to having an abiding relationship with Jesus Christ and living a life free from the bondage of sin, that I feel like reading it every single day, over and over again, until the words are impressed in my memory.

Here’s my recommendation to my (mostly) female readers: take your husband to see this movie. Arrange child care, tell him he has a hot date tonight, and go see this movie. Then have him take some friends, and have him take his teenaged sons or his brother or his father. The men in America need to see this movie and they need to rise up to the challenges presented within it.
Here’s the menu for my family for the week of October 10th. Last Wednesday night at church, our pastor called for us to begin a 40-day fast. Gregg and I prayed about it and decided that we would do a Daniel Fast. For the next few weeks, you will see a “vegan extreme” diet. We are consuming only fruits, vegetables, and whole grains, and drinking only water – no sugars, honey, syrups, nor leavened bread. Kaylee is observing her own form of this fast and will be abstaining from the sugars and the meat – she will be consuming dairy, however. The boys will be eating our meals with us, but will have some meat and will have dairy.
For lunches, we will be eating hummus with fresh vegetables, avocado and salsa in Ezekiell 4:9 tortillas (the only tortillas I could find with nothing in them but grains), salads, and unsweetened peanut butter with tortillas.
I pray that by sharing our journey with you, you will receiving a blessing from it.
Pin ItI’ve had so many people ask me how the transition of Gregg being home has gone. This past weekend, while Gregg had drill in Alabama, the kids and I visited my parents in West Virginia. At church Sunday, their pastor asked me how married life was treating me – as if we were newlyweds. It made me laugh. It also made me want to share this.
I think chapter 3, “Lies Women Believe About Themselves” is one of the most important chapters in Lies Women Believe: And the Truth that Sets them Free by Nancy Leigh DeMoss (previously titled Walking in the Truth).
Pin ItLast Sunday, a couple in our church celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary. I LOVE that there are several couples in our church that have been married for over 50 years. I think that is amazing. Gregg and I were older when we got married, so neither one of us really expect to make it to 65 years, but we’ll take 50 with gladness and joy.
Pin ItHow did life — with hundreds of proteins and strictly by chemistry without any intelligent design or intelligent agent — originate? While this is a question that Darwinists cannot answer, it is a question for which believers in the Biblical account of creation can very easily answer.
Pin ItBy way of introduction to chapter 2 of of Lies Women Believe: And the Truth that Sets them Free by Nancy Leigh DeMoss (previously titled Walking in the Truth) “Lies Women Believe About God”, I think what Nancy said best says it:
Pin ItFaith is the foundation of everything we believe. If we don’t have faith, how can we claim a relationship with God? For everything else we have discussed in this book, faith, to me, is the most important.
Pin ItIn Sunday school a few weeks ago, we were studying Romans 1, and through a rabbit chasing a rabbit course of conversation, I mentioned that we do not watch popular culture television. We don’t have cable, we don’t do whatever HD thing you need to do to get base television stations, and we have no intention of changing that in the near future. I said that the reason why is because we are so strict about what we allow into our home in the form of entertainment, that there are actually very few shows that we would even be able to watch if we were willing to free up that much time in our lives for watching.
