Preview of the upcoming Virtues and Valor series

Here is the prologue from the Virtues and Valor Series, Book 1, Temperance’s Trial, due out in September. This will be a serialized set of seven novellas that take place during WWII. Each book will follow a different female heroine throughout the planning and execution of a mission in occupied France. Every character will be based on a real life heroine from that war. In the back of each novella, I will tell you about the heroine who inspired that book’s character.

Temperance’s Trial follows Marie Gilbert, codenamed Temperance.

The Best Bread & Butter Pickles – Ever

Bread and butter pickles are an absolute favorite of mine. They’re kind of a savory/sweet combination that only a pickle can achieve. This recipe is straight from the Ball Book of Home Preserving. I consider Ball the the foremost expert on all things preserving and will almost always refer to them to answer any questions pertaining to preserving.

Clash of the Titles!

You know that whole “It’s an honor to be nominated” thing? That’s this. It’s an honor to be nominated. I am thrilled they picked me. This is a wonderful thing. But, to be honest, I would be beyond stoked to win.

PLEASE Help Me Win!

Sapphire Ice has been nominated for the July Fiction book of the month at The Book Club Network.

This is what the person who nominated Sapphire Ice said:

I recently read Sapphire Ice by Hallee Bridgeman and I think it would be a great book for the July book of the month in fiction. I’ve often read books where a wealthy man falls for an unwealthy woman, but often they really didn’t seem plausible. However, I think Hallee did a great job with this theme in the book. The characters are very realistic and the more you read, the more you realize the depth of the characters when you begin to learn their backgrounds and how they came to be where they are today. There’s humor, romance, and also some excellent lessons the reader can learn about growing in a relationship with Christ and how that fits into everyday life. I liked this book so much, I was thrilled to learn that it was the first book in The Jewel Trilogy and I didn’t have to wait for the other two books to be published!! Read them ALL! They are all so good!

What an amazing nomination!

Hard to Imagine

I’d always feared that I would come against a giant and my faith would waiver. But, 7 years ago today, I faced a true test of my faith. Instead of waivering, instead of being afraid, instead of not trusting, my faith in God, my trust in God, and my peace grew. I blogged about it 3 years ago on the piece I wrote titled Peace That Passes Understanding.

Dear Hallee: Real Food & Visiting Family

I have really been trying to feed my family better. We’ve recently switched to mainly organic foods, when we can afford them. My question comes in an upcoming trip to visit family. We’ll be there around 3 nights and they don’t really eat the way we do. When you travel, how do you eat? Do you just eat what the host fixes, regardless of what’s in it? Do you take food and possibly offend the host? I’m stuck in the fact that I really don’t want to mess up our newly established eating habits, but I also don’t want to offend anybody either. Signed, Traveling Mama

What to Do on a Rainy 4th

Those of you who have followed this blog and read Gregg’s Creation Posts won’t be surprised to learn that we are lifetime members of The Creation Museum. But, it’s been a busy year with my book writing and releasing and signings, and we haven’t been there since Christmas for their Christmas Town exhibit. So deciding to go there was an easy decision.
