How to Have the Best Corn on the Cob Ever
If you prepare your corn on the cob this way, it will never fail you. When you bite into your corn, it will be crisp, juicy, perfect.
Do not husk your corn until you are ready to cook it. Store it in the husk in the refrigerator.
Once you’ve husked the corn and removed the silk, place it in a pan and cover it with COLD water.
Do not salt your water. Do not put butter in your water. This will toughen the kernels. Just cook the corn in water.
Bring to a boil and boil uncovered for 2 minutes. Don’t boil it any longer.
Remove from heat and let stand uncovered for 10 minutes.
As simple as it is, that’s it. You won’t eat a better cob of corn than this.

i love corn on the cob! esp fresh right from the farm! i grilled mine last week and it was perfect!
Thanks for the cooking tips. We love fresh corn and just bought a whole bunch from local farmers. I am also freezing some to have for the winter. I know it’s not as good after its been frozen, but at least we will not have to buy it from the grocery store. I also fried some up for the freezer. YUMMY!
Have a blessed day.
When I freeze corn, I cut if off the cob and cook it very quickly in a skillet – just long enough to get it hot. Then I use my seal-a-meal to seal it in a bag and freeze it. It tastes fresh, even almost a year later.
My dad cooks his corn like that. He just likes the ‘chill’ taken off of his. He usually eats it raw in the garden! Thanks for the instructions.
My daughter, Kaylee, prefers it to be uncooked, too. She loves raw corn on the cob.
Looks perfect! Hope you will come link up to No Whine Wednesday. This would be a great recipe!
YUM… YUM… and YUM!!!!
Sometimes we microwave them still in the husk! :)
But I agree – boiling them is still the best way in my opinion!
ps I love these pictures!
I love corn on the cob…yumm.
I am the only one in the house (ok there is only 2 of us, lol) who likes corn on the cob. Quite honestly I think the husband might be a little woohooo in the head for not liking corn on the cob. LOL.
