Loving a Life of Biblical Womanhood
I found this video on Courtney’s blog while blog hopping. I found it fascinating, and Rachel Ray’s reaction to it rather interesting. There isn’t a thing Courtney said with which I disagree. She kind of summed up a good portion of my philosophy on homemaking/wifely-ness in a short little clip.
I was shopping at Whole Foods one day and saw lamb shank in their meet counter. I’d just put a bunch of fennel in my basket, and when I saw the shank I thought how good a lamb and fennel stew would be. I’d never done stew without beef before, but the final result was amazing.

Here’s the menu for my family for the week of December 27th. As far as desserts go, we still have some Captain Crunch Candy and some fudge left, but the cookie jar is empty. I will probably make some easy cookie to fill the jar and use the left over marshmallow cream and Rice Crispies from the goodies I made last week and make some Rice Crispies treats. We’ll also make a celebration New Year’s 2011 cake.

In order for Jesus to be the true Messiah, He had to fulfill every prophecy that was ever spoken and written about him…and He did. Every single one!
But, for those of you who may not want delicate fried dough sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar or drizzled with warm honey (YUM!), here is a list of some ideas for Christmas morning. Some things can be made ahead of time so that all you have to do is serve, and some things are just simply festive.
Pin ItThe boys’ room is blue and red trains. They have a blue Christmas tree with red ornaments. Scott wanted a star for the top of their tree. Before I could get crafty and make him one, he took matters into his own hands.
At my parents’ house this weekend, Scott and Johnathan were watching a nature program with my dad. My mom, in another room, said to my dad, “I don’t want them seeing anything that is too disturbing.”
I could see the television over the back of the couch from where I sat in the dining room and knew it was a nature program, but didn’t really pay attention to what they were watching. I said, “They aren’t seeing anything we didn’t watch with dad as kids.”
Here’s the menu for my family for Christmas week! As far as desserts go, we will be doing Christmas Baking Bonanza! I will be putting together gift baskets with the goodies and with my Whole Wheat Honey Oatmeal Bread.
