In my post about cancer awareness month, I encouraged everyone to order a free breast self exam shower card here and to use it. Select a day once a month to do a self-exam. I also encouraged everyone to find a buddy and remind each other to do your breast exams.
Pin ItToday I begin a 40-day juice fast. But, it’s not really a “pure” juice fast. I’ll be drinking smoothies, and I’m contemplating eating some homemade vegetable soup. I haven’t fully decided. But, I’m not going to spend a lot of time talking about it here. It’s not really something like a Daniel Fast that requires teaching and recipe aids. I’ll be using a juicer and juicing anything I can– carrots, apples, spinach, kale, citrus, ginger.
My family is not fasting with me, so I’ll be posting our regular meals for you.
Don’t forget to check out my new author blog, Hallee Bridgeman. I’ll be announcing the release of my new Christian romance, Sapphire Ice in the next few weeks!
We will begin publishing my novels this month. Sapphire Ice is the first book of the trilogy — and hopefully by mid-March we will have a firm publication date.
Pin ItEarlier this week, my Facebook status was, “I turn 40 this week. And that’s all I have to say about that.”
A reply from someone was, “It’s better than the alternative.”
Well said, friend. I even found a t-shirt that expresses that very sentiment for me perfectly.
Pin ItWe believe, that as Christian parents, it’s our duty to teach our children to understand and defend the dignity and the worth of every human being. It’s core to the Christian culture, even though it isn’t always practiced due to the makeup of our culture by sinful man.
Pin ItHere’s the menu for my family for the week of February 27th. As far as desserts go, Friday is my 40th birthday! So, I’m hoping that there’s something chocolate in my future.
Pin ItAsexual reproduction gives up to twice as much reproductive success (‘fitness’) for the same resources as sexual reproduction, so how could the latter ever gain enough advantage to be selected? And how could mere physics and chemistry invent the complementary apparatuses needed at the same time (non-intelligent processes cannot plan for future coordination of male and female organs).
These conversations all happened within a week or so of each other. They intrigued me only because roasting a whole chicken is my “I don’t want to put effort into dinner so I’m going to roast a whole chicken” fallback.
