A Week in the Life of Hallee: Thursday

Posted by Hallee on Jun 30, 2011 in Life

This wasn’t a typical week for me by any stretch of the imagination. But, I thought that you might enjoy seeing the process that I went through to prepare my home for my husband’s return and to plan for Scott and Johnathan’s combined birthday party, which included out-of-town family being here. So, here it is, one of the craziest weeks of my life. I have determined that I will do this again once school starts and I do have a typical week, so that you can see that I’m not always so insanely overwhelmed with life. The Garden: Week 8

Posted by Hallee on Jun 30, 2011 in Gardening, Hallee's Galley

It’s crazy how, when you’re looking at the new baby plants planted so far apart, you think you should fill in the gaps. But, experience teaches you that’s a really bad idea.

Food Art: Watermelon Shark

Posted by Hallee on Jun 29, 2011 in Food Art

Feeling slightly overwhelmed with the thought of all that I had to do, I decided to do something I thought I wouldn’t have time to do — make a watermelon shark.

Menu Monday 27 JUN 2011 – 9th Anniversary Week

Posted by Hallee on Jun 27, 2011 in Hallee's Galley, menus & menu planning

Here’s the menu for my family for the week of June 27th. Gregg is home (yay!) and Tuesday this week is our 9th wedding anniversary. As such, I’m going to attempt to create a red velvet cheesecake my friend Heather from Out of the Box Into the Kitchen recommended to me. The recipe she gave me called for a Devil’s Food cake mix, so I’m going to try to recreate the recipe real food style. I also found a cookie cutter in the shape of Lightning McQueen, and may make some Traditional Sugar Cookies and let my boys decorate some cookies. We also have a ton of birthday cake left.

Creation: Mutations Refutations Part IV

Posted by Gregg on Jun 26, 2011 in apologetics, Christian Faith, Creation, homeschooling

Darwinists must somehow explain the introduction of completely new genetic instructions (information) for feathers, life preserving secretions, highly specific and specifically complex symbiotic relationships, instinctual migration patterns, and other wonders that never existed in more ‘simple’ forms of life.

Herb-Roasted Potato Wedges

Posted by Hallee on Jun 25, 2011 in Christian Faith, Daniel Fast, diet & fasting, Hallee's Galley, Recipes, sides, Snacks

This recipe is so easy to make, and is such a beautiful side dish to almost any sandwich. We love this kind of side for our game night dinners when we tend to go with Turkey Burgers or Root Beer Barbecued Beef Sandwiches.
