Storing Sheets
In the comments section on my Vlog of How to Fold a Fitted Sheet, one of the commenters talked about folding the pillow cases in with the fitted sheet. This got me thinking about an easy way to store sheet sets.
Take your flat sheet, folded all the way down so that you’re ready to fold it into the final thirds. This process is going to be different for the different sizes of sheets.
Set your perfectly folded fitted sheet on the far edge flush with the edge of the flat sheet.
Set the folded pillow case(s) on top of the fitted sheet.
Fold all of it in thirds once.
Then twice.
Now you have a perfectly packaged sheet set and you won’t have to dig for the different elements when it comes time to change beds.
It also stores very neatly in your linen closet.

I actually store the folded flat and fitted sheets, plus the extra pillow case inside one of the pillow cases. Same idea- keeps me from having to search for all the matching sheets, but also, when Austin decides to redecorate my linen cabinet, I have a few extra seconds to get to him before he unfolds everything. :)
I have always folded my fitted sheet with the corners tucked into each other, but then continued trying to fold in in a square, which still just looked like a big mess. I can’t wait to try this next time.

Ok Hallee, I have a request! I am 35 years old and STILL can NOT figure out HOW to fold a fitted sheet! They frustrate me so much! LOL. Could you do a step by step (pictures PLEASE) on how to fold a fitted sheet? Mine just end up lumpy, jumbled and ultimately wrinkled. Thank you so much!

I love how we all do things differently and mostly we do things the way our own moms did. :) It’s KILLING me that your towels are turned sideways. Mine only have one folded edge showing! LOL! I am so obsessive about stuff like that though. I like the new sheet package idea a lot though! Right now mine all just stack on each other…but THIS new way will allow me to have just 1 folded edge showing! :) So thanks!!
I actually can’t stand the way they’re sitting, either. I much prefer one fold showing. BUT, my closet is very narrow. Setting them this way allows me to make each shelf into two rows. So, I cope – lol – and plan making a new closet one day.

When I finally learned how to fold fitted sheets it changed my life! I recently saw a suggestion to put the sheet sets in gallon ziploc baggies and liked that it kept them together but didn’t want to waste baggies…this is the perfect solution! Thanks for sharing (I might have to go redo my linen closet right now :)
