Loving a Life of Biblical Womanhood
My mom told me, years ago when Kaylee was just a baby, that there were two areas that a child felt like they had control: eating and sleeping. With everything else, they could not control you or your responses, but for some reason, they feel like they can control food and sleeping.

Sometimes, my heart feels a little broken. I wish I knew what else to call it. Sometimes, I look at my oldest son, Scott, and struggle with an overwhelming emotion that borders on heartache.
I recently made eggplant parmesan for dinner. (Recipe forthcoming). I had Scott and Johnathan (Jeb) in the kitchen with me, as is typically the norm. Jeb was on his chair watching me cook.
While I was contending with something on the stove, Scott decided to help.
I have a bad habit.
I have a tendency to leave cleaning supplies in my wake.
I’ll clean a room, scrub it down, mop it, vacuum it, make it shine like new. And when I’m done, on one surface will be a bottle of furniture cleaner, on another a bottle of window cleaner (vinegar & water), and on tossed somewhere will be the rag I used to dust the furniture.

My oldest son’s love language is absolutely touch. There is no doubt about it. He rubs, strokes, touches, hugs, feels constantly. When he sits next to me, he’ll grab my hand and put it on his head so that I’ll rub his head.
So, whenever I find that I have a free moment and I happen to be sitting down, you can almost bet that Scott will be in my lap.

I enjoyed chapter seven of Nancy Leigh DeMoss’ Lies Women Believe: And the Truth that Sets them Free. Gregg and I are raising our children to be conformed to the Word rather than to the world, and we get a lot of confused reactions to that.
It’s amazing to me how much time you spend cooking/baking – seriously – do you have hired help? You have young kids – who I’m assuming make messes and require your attention – any tips? ~Miranda
Our rule for Sunday viewing is this: it must be a Bible story, or about God or the Bible in some way. We have a HUGE movie selection, and a big portion of our movies are God focused, so there is no problem finding something to watch. We love it when the kids pick something that is a specific Bible story, but we’re happy with Veggie Tales or similar programming. Kaylee has several Christian themed teen appropriate movies and documentaries, and Gregg and I could watch the documentaries, video studies, and movies we have for a solid month and not put a dent in our choices.
The before dinner devotions are open – it will be whatever my husband or I determines will be discussed at that time. During breakfast, however, we have a set Bible reading.
