Monday Morning Survey

Posted by Hallee on Feb 6, 2012 in Housekeeping, Life |

Do you use a homemaking app for your phone/pad/tablet?

If you do, what do you use (and what is your brand)?  Do you like it?

What does it do?  Does it keep a calendar, task list, grocery list?  Does it compare prices in stores for pantry items and keep a running inventory?

How much did it cost?

Would you recommend it?

I have the free Cozi app. I like it because I can set our recurring events (church, Bible study, library story time) and they just repeat as scheduled. I can color code things for each member of the family. I can set it up to text reminders to the people affected by specific events, too, if I want.

But I am not as diligent as I should be. I know homeschooling moms who literally curriculum plan in it, others who have recipes and everything with their menu plans, and so much more. One of my goals is to utilize it more fully.

I use cozi too. My husband an I can each have stuff on there that is just for us or for both of us to see, with reminders. I haven’t used the other functions yet. I have yet to see a grocery shopping app that works better for me than a pen and paper, but I don’t have a very regular menu either.

I use Cozi online. If I had a tablet or iPad to use it on I would.

I use Astrid (Android) to manage chores. When I put in a task (e.g. sweep the kitchen), I set it so that it will repeat based on when it was last done (e.g. 4 days after completion). :)

I have an iPad 2, but I don’t have a homemaking app. I don’t like to pay for apps, so I would be interested in the free Cozi app others have mentioned. But really, I find that there are so many apps, I am overwhelmed and have a hard time finding anything unless I am looking for a specific app by name, based on someone else’s recommendation. I would love to find a great free homemaking app. Thanks for posing the question!

I just use notes for shopping lists or a list of things to do.

I use Outlook synched with my iphone for all of my calendar stuff.

  • Sara says:

    No apps here.

I use Outlook to manage my family and work calendars and I use “Notes” for lists. I also use Siri for reminders/tasks.
