It’s a Struggle – One I Seem to be Losing

Ceasing of constant motion coupled with a desire to eat constantly has resulted in exactly in what you would imagine it would result. I don’t have a scale, and I don’t have a full length mirror, so I have no idea how much weight I’ve gained. But, my wedding rings are tight, my clothes are tight, and we spent the weekend in a hotel that had mirrors on it seemed like every wall and I was faced with the very real fact that, even though I walk four miles a day, every single day, six days a week, I have gained a serious amount of weight.

Menu Monday 31 May 2010

Here’s the menu for my family for the week of May 31st. Last week, I was really sick, so I didn’t stick to my menu at all. I roasted a couple of chickens, made some quick taco meat that I mixed with kidney beans and put on top of a bed of lettuce, and one day threw together a batch of Hallee’s Heavenly Pizza out of dough and sauce I had frozen from the last time I made pizza. So, the kids ate real, home cooked food, but that was all I had in me to do for them.

Menu Monday 24 May 2010

Here’s the menu for my family for the week of May 24th. I am entering week 2 of combining the strict following of the Abs Diet for Women menu plan (well, strict in the sense of measurements, less strict in the sense of how it’s prepared and seasoned) performing the Walking the Walk: Getting Fit With Faith journal and exercise regimen, pulling some meals from there when I’m faced with shellfish or pork in the Abs Diet menu. Other than a Saturday night banquet where I indulged in my weakness, cake, I did good last week. Let’s ignore the fact that I have to make chocolate cupcakes for a birthday party today.

Menu Monday 17 May 2010

Here’s the menu for my family for the week of May 17th. This is something different this week. While working on the Power of a Praying Wife last week, I was convicted that I need to work on my physical health and fitness. I eat extremely healthy meals, but I have a problem with portion control. Couple that with my love of all things cake and my lack of focused exercise this winter, I gained too much weight.
