Monthly Reminder ☺

Last month was breast cancer awareness month. In my post about it on October 6th, I encouraged everyone to order a free breast self exam shower card here and to use it. Select a day once a month to do a self-exam. I also encouraged everyone to find a buddy and remind each other to do your breast exams.

Here is my monthly reminder to you guys, my buddies. Please remember to do monthly self exam. The earlier detection, the more likely a positive outcome.

the sick house

My house has been the sick house this week. We were in Chicago on vacation, and the day after we got home, my daughter came home from school complaining of a sore throat. By that night, her temperature had spiked. The next morning, my son woke up lethargic and throwing up.

Your Girls and Mine

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. According to the American Cancer Society, there will be over 192,000 new cases of breast cancer diagnosed in 2009. Perhaps one of them will be you, or your mother, or your favorite aunt.

Soy – OH BOY!

It is estimated that an infant exclusively fed soy formula receives the estrogen equivalent (based on body weight) of at least 5 birth control pills per day.(14) By contrast, almost no phytoestrogens have been detected in dairy-based infant formula or in human milk, even when the mother consumes soy products.
