Hi. If you read my blog with any kind of regularity, you’ll know that my husband has been in Afghanistan for the last almost two years, and that he and I met in Kuwait on Tuesday and are spending the week together in a wonderful time of aloneness. That is only significant to right now because…I forgot to pack my Vicki Courtney’s 5 Conversations You Must Have with Your Daughter book, and I didn’t read the next chapter yet…

While I’m Gone…

I thought about what to do for the week. I could find time to do status updates. I could just post some pictures as the week goes on. I could send little tidbits as they occurred to me. All of those things I could, and may yet, do. However, in order to plan my week so that it is as worrisome free and as relaxing as possible, I’ve decided to re-run a very early series I did on Feminine Appeal, Seven Virtues of a Godly Wife and Mother by Carolyn Mahaney.

The Power of a Praying Wife: Chapter 18 – His Fatherhood

Since the beginning of the 20th century, there has been an effort to denigrate men, feminize them, render them incapable of any kind of clear thought outside of Monday night football. Sitcoms and commercials make fathers out to be impotent dimwits, buffoons, idiots, while a take-charge woman cleans up the mess behind them. The more aware of it I have become, the more irritated I get at it, and the less popular culture I’m willing to endure.
