Commissary Day

It’s over a two-hour drive to get to the commissary from our house, so I shop about every three months (other than my weekly grocery trip for dairy and produce). This trip will include what I need for all of my holiday baking, and should get me through the New Year.

Critical Thinking: Critics Welcome!

A great deal of the content of this website is dedicated to information pertaining to physical and spiritual needs. Hopefully, that provides some insight into how we, as parents, meet the needs of our children in those two very often overlooked areas. Keeping things in balance, we wanted to offer some insight into the most overlooked area, that being how we choose to meet their intellectual needs, as well.

Plugged In

Listening to a Christian radio station several years ago, we heard a movie review followed by the tag line, “for more reviews, go to pluggedinonline.com.” I was sitting at my computer at the time and opened it up. As I did, one of my favorite resources as a parent opened onto my computer screen.

Hallowing Halloween

On this last day of October, children in the US will be carrying bags filled with sweets. Thinking of them can remind us to ask: “What is filling the vessel of my life? Is it a bitter attitude that leads to foolish disputes and strife, or is it a sweet spirit that leads to righteousness, faith, love, and peace?”
