Commenting on the Giveaway Post

Several of you are commenting every day about Facebook, Twitter, and blogging entries on the L’Equip Nutrimill Grain Mill Giveaway!.  That’s wonderful  – keep those giveaway entries coming!

Our WordPress commenting platform does not allow for duplicate comments – even on different days and even for me or Gregg.  It used to say, “Oops, it looks like that comment was already posted,” or something similar.

We updated our WordPress yesterday, and one of the side effects was that it no longer gives a warning – it simply does NOT post.  You don’t even know it didn’t post.  I discovered that thinking I was giving people duplicate entries on the giveaway post.  If someone hadn’t asked me where their duplicate entry was, I wouldn’t have known.

From now on, the best way to insure that it doesn’t happen to you would be to date your entry.  For instance, instead of saying, “Tweeted about the giveaway today!”, you could say, “Tweeted about the giveaway – 8/4!”.  Anything to give it a differentiation from any other comment.

I’m getting so exited for giveaway day!  Keep entering and keep your eye out for more extra entry competitions!

  1. Thanks for updating us. This would be a wonderful thing to win! I shared this on facebook today ;) (8/5/11)

  2. We have been wanting one of these! It would be great for the Gonzalez kitchen! Thanks for the opportunity to win! Blessings!

  3. Copy and paste the code into notepad and then copy it again from there. In order for the code to work, the quotation marks can’t be “fancy”. WordPress messes with the quotation marks and automatically “fancy’s” them no matter how many times we tell it not to, and since we updated yesterday, it might have stripped away the filter Gregg installed to keep it from doing that. If that doesn’t work, I’ll email you the code in email text form.
