What Do I Do for Entertainment?
I was talking to a friend the other day, and she mentioned something she’d seen on the television the night before. I said, “I haven’t watched television programming in two years.”
She was surprised. She said, “You have a huge television in your living room.”
I told her we watched DVD’s and that I could stream Netflix through my television. “But,” I told her, “I pulled a DVD out to watch last week and still haven’t taken the plastic off of it to open it. I just haven’t had time.”
Her next question threw me. “What do you do in the evenings?”
What do I do in the evenings? How do I stay “entertained” without the drone of a television?
It gave me an idea. I’ve thought about doing a “Day in the Life of…” – but I don’t seem to have a “typical” day. So, I thought I’d do a “Week in the Life of Hallee the Homemaker” – and depending on how boring or exciting the week is, I’ll either break it out into daily posts the following week, or make just one big post when it’s all done.
I’m starting today. As I woke up this morning, I started snapping pictures and making notes of my day.
This week is very special and very hectic, so it ought to make for not-boring reading. Gregg will be home for a 30-day visit, my parents and sister-in-law are coming in town, and I’m having a big joint birthday party for the boys. You’ll get to be part of the mass-hysteria-company-is-coming cleaning, party food preparation, party shopping, and picking my husband up at the airport at midnight!
Have a good week. I look forward to sharing mine with you starting Monday morning.
Hallee
