Red Handed

Posted by Hallee on Feb 8, 2010 in Housekeeping, Parenting |

The pictures didn’t come out.  I’m irritated because you can’t see how bad this really was.  These are little Jeb hand prints – red hand prints – more specifically, hand prints made from hands smeared with red lipstick.  I don’t want to really discuss the incident or the red hand prints that went all the way up the stair banister, the stairwell wall, the upstairs hallway, the boys’ bedroom door…

heh

What I will discuss with you is this: The most common ingredient in lipstick is grease.  Knowing this, if you mix about 1 Tablespoon Dawn dishwashing detergent with about 1 cup of warm water…

Dawn takes grease..

out of your way.

I have so been there… the hallway in the old house was lined with lipstick fingerprints when we moved out. And now this one has one single smear across the wall in Austin’s room.
I left it there just because I didn’t want to deal with it smearing all over my wall…
We might tackle cleaning that and the rest of the dirt on Austin’s walls today… Sounds like a good project for us!
I’m not sure that I would have made the connection between lipstick & Dawn! Thanks for that!
