30 Days of Thankfulness Day 23

Posted by Hallee on Nov 23, 2013 in Blog Stuff, Christian Faith, Homemaking with Hallee, Life, Marriage

I started this blog on a whim. I woke up one morning having no idea what a homemaking blog even was, and went to bed that night having written my first post. It has been an incredible 4-year journey. Through this blog I’ve learned, I’ve opened up, I’ve searched inside of myself, and I’ve made many friends. More so, I’ve grown closer daily to God by having a ministry so focused on Him that when I sit down at my computer, He is sitting right next to me.

Italian Seasoning or Rub (Parsley, Sage, Rosemary & Thyme)

Posted by Hallee on Oct 4, 2013 in Gardening, Gift Ideas, Hallee's Galley, Italian, Preserving, Recipes, Spices & Rubs

When reading the first four ingredients to this mix, if an old song that goes, “Parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme” doesn’t get stuck in your head, then you probably think I am REALLY old.

Menu Monday 06 DEC 10

Posted by Hallee on Dec 6, 2010 in Hallee's Galley, menus & menu planning

Here’s the menu for my family for the week of December 6th. Wow. Is it really December already? Outside of my home in central Kentucky, the world is blanketed in snow, while inside my tree lights are quietly blinking – yet it’s hard to imagine how quickly the last year has gone. I will be putting together a Christmas menu, just like I did with my Thanksgiving Extravaganza, so be on the lookout for that.

This is a busy week – we have something almost every night. As such, my dinners are simplified and will be easier to make ahead of time so that we can eat as we have an opportunity. As far as desserts go, I still owe you a recipe for whole wheat chocolate chip cookies – and my cookie jar is nothing but crumbs. I hope to get to that this week!

My Girl

Posted by Hallee on Nov 10, 2010 in Hallee's Galley, Parenting, Preserving, Raising girls, Raising teens

Kaylee brought a friend home from school the other day. They came into the kitchen, where I was working, barefoot, in my long apron that covered my long skirt. She gestured at the row of mason jars I had cooling on the towel-covered counter and said, “What’s in the jars?”
